Arcanima:

Role: Lead Sound Designer

Arcanima is a tarot-themed mobile puzzle game with a focus on interactive narrative. My role as the Sound designer was to develop, mix, and implement all of the audio in the game and for promotional pieces. I worked closely alongside our Artists, Programmers, Designers, and producers to deliver a soundscape that fits the game's aesthetic. In developing the soundscape for Arcanima, I embraced relaxing and slightly somber. Arcanima's Sound effects are all instruments to give the player the feeling that they are creating their own song alongside solving a puzzle. All except the designated ambiance sound, each level gets one ambiance piece, including rain for the realm of cups and a burning torch for the realm of wands. This way, at any time, the player can stop and take a break and simply relax to the soothing sound of rain or a crackling fire.

Game Description:

Arcanima is a story about The Prince who is plagued by the trauma of the sudden death of their parents--an event that uprooted their life, leaving them an orphan and burdened by their parents' duties. Due to this trauma, the prince falls victim to a metaphysical reality concocted from their fears and grief, inspired by the Tarot in which they transform into The Fool. Now, they must confront what plagues them or be forever lost. Arcanima takes place in the mental dreamscape of the player character's that takes form in a fantastical world with its own mysterious and possibly magical existence. The prince travels the Realms of the dreamscape, the prince must confront their emotional struggles, represented by each Realm. Through overcoming the challenges before them, they grow through the experience and gain both the keys and experience which will allow them to access and overcome the looming threat of The Tower which lies before them.

Miswae:

Role: Lead sound & Narrative Designer

Miswae is a short game that I redesigned / rescored to show of adaptive audio. The music evolves the more pieces you collect, and the dialogue will change depending on the order that you have picked up the collectibles. Set in early Eurasia, one lone hominid must save his tribe from certain doom. Armed with nothing but his wits and the voice of the tribe's shaman in his head, Gak'jor must find ingredients to save the mother pregnant with the destined hero of their tribe.

Miswae Lore

In 7,000 B.C, in the Dense forests of Eurasia live an isolated tribe of early hominids. Once a thriving tribe, over one hundred and fifty strong, bustling with life and maintaining a solid grip on being the top predators in their region. However, several moons ago, a new predator appeared out of nowhere, quickly culling the local fauna, including over one hundred tribe members. Its razor-sharp claws and crushing bite was the unfortunate and untimely demise of many of the tribe's loved ones, and it clearly has no intention of stopping. Now pushed back into the recesses of their territory, our tribe works tirelessly to fight against extinction. Not all hope is lost however, the last remaining shaman of the tribe Ujul has foretold the birth of a great champion among them that would spell doom for the alpha predator stalking their every move. Now the tribe must protect the upcoming mother from all dangers in hopes that the prophesied child can protect not only them but all of mankind.

The tribe is in great danger and is hurridly stirring about, the expecting mother has fallen ill and must be healed. The possibility of failure weighs heavily on each of the tribe member's minds. Our protagonist Gak’Jor the smartest and greatest tracker amongst the tribe has been sent out to collect several herbs, animal parts, and shamanic fetishes. Our hero must brave the harsh wilderness of his forest home and hope that he does not run into the alpha predator the dreaded Miswae. Gak’Jor would be paralyzed in fear at the mere thought of such an expedition had he not fully understood the gravitas of the situation laid out in front of him. He must mask his fear and step bravely out into the unknown, unlike any time he had before. He will fight for this unborn child as if it were his own, for to die on this mission would be a far grander mercy than to live to see the blood of all who he loves trickle from the jaws of the Miswae.

Before Gak’jor leaves, the tribe's shaman Ujul offers great power, the ritual for which is exceedingly dangerous, but what is one more attempt on his life amongst so many to come? He accepts the power, and the ritual is successful now along with increased reflexes and dexterity, wherever he goes, Gak’Jor will be spiritually guided by Ujul, whose counsel can be heard inside of Gak’Jors head no matter the distance between the two. Likewise, any winging he may have to spew can be heard inside Ujul’s head, allowing them to hear and speak to one another freely. Lucky for them both that this connection can be severed and reforged at will, so they need not share in each other's private moments.

Dead by Daylight Redesign / Rescore:

This is a short clip from DBD with all of the audio removed and replaced with my own original assets.

Die Leckere Schawlbe & Höhle Schwester:

Role: Writer, Director, Actor and editor.

other actors: Rosie Newton and Maya Borten

DLS and its prequel HS are original radio plays created by myself. Set in a brother's Grimm-esque German fairy tale where manners and politeness are closer to the laws of physics than social norms. Certain creatures who can comprehend greater levels of manner can access higher levels of power and consciousness. Though doing so will often transform them into Lovecraftian horrors if they weren't already. These stories follow the tale of Mark Teuful, the fifth son of eight living sons, There were twelve. Though his family is a powerful noble family being the fifth son means he inherits nothing and is regarded lowly by everyone. Out of fear of being assassinated by his younger brothers and desire to see his older brothers die, he is driven into attempting the impossible, trying to ascend the power structure. Rumors have it that the Jutted City could hold what Mark desires. Along the way, he meets Ubbelohde, a small impish creature. Though Mark neither knows nor cares what exactly Ubbelohde is, he knows he is a Singless. Creatures despised and looked down upon for their inability to sing or make music which denotes them as a lower class of being. Something Mark is happy to enforce and take advantage of to help him survive the journey to the jutted city. Together they must face their fears and Lovecraftian horrors ahead and behind them.
